I Challenge You To Do Less
Happy National Wellness Month! This month is an invitation to prioritize your wellness journey: your goals, needs, expectations, and well-being.
But wait... I'm not asking you to overhaul your routine by joining another challenge, trying the latest "healthy" drink, or filling your calendar with more workouts and wellness events.
I invite you to permit yourself to do less and honestly ask yourself: What gives me energy? What drains me? What can I let go of to make room for what matters most?
At Su + Soul, we believe the true measure of wellness isn't how much you do or how many hours you invest. It's how intentionally you choose to live. So instead of asking, "What should I add to celebrate National Wellness Month?" try asking,
"What can I subtract to create more space for my well-being?"
Join me in trying these six “do less” challenges this month
1. Skip one unnecessary commitment.
I'm talking about the meeting, event, class, or gathering you said yes to (even though your gut told you otherwise). Not every invitation deserves a "yes." Protecting your time is protecting your energy.
2. Put your phone away during one meal each day.
Trust me, I know that slight panic when you can't find your phone 😊 But for one meal, let's be fully present, with our food, our thoughts, or the people sitting across from us.
3. Leave at least 15 minutes between commitments.
Create breathing room instead of rushing from one task to the next. Your nervous system will thank you.
My tip: I use Calendly to automatically add a 15-minute buffer between coaching sessions and partnership meetings. It's one of the simplest changes I've made to protect my energy. If you'd like help setting it up, I'd be happy to show you how.
4. Let go of the pressure to be perfect.
You don't need a full hour to say, "I prioritized my wellness and fitness today." A 20-minute walk, a few intentional stretches, or a mindful breathing break absolutely count. Progress will always be more sustainable than perfection.
5. Reduce the noise.
Whether it's social media, constant notifications, or comparing yourself to others, notice what steals your attention and intentionally step away from it. I know it's easier said than done. But I believe in you, and I'm taking on this challenge right alongside you.
6. Plan a wellness date with yourself.
Block time on your calendar just like you would for coffee with a friend or an important meeting. Go for a walk, take yourself to your favorite café, read a book, move your body, or simply sit outside without an agenda. Treat your relationship with yourself as one worth making time for.
Wellness isn't another box to check.
It's creating the conditions that allow you to feel your best physically, mentally, and emotionally.
So this month, I challenge you (and me) to do less, chase balance, and create space for what matters most.
With soul + flow,
Çağla
